Exhaustion sets in

So after a not-so-restful night, we were off again this morning. And we actually woke up before noon!  We just did some more touristy things today-- Chinatown, Little Italy, Brooklyn Bridge, St. Paul's Chapel, Ground Zero and 9/11 Memorial... yep, that's about it. After our hours of walking we finally got home. And I think my legs are about to fall off. Oh good glory.
Oh! And for all of you who know who Jennette McCurdy is (Sam from Nickelodeon's iCarly), I totally saw her right outside Serendipity today.  Did I say hi to her?  Goodness no.  I just stared at her awkwardly as she walked by and stood with my mouth agape as I watched her walk away.  It was weird.

So today we basically explored the whole city on foot.


We woke up this morning at noon (heh heh) and took the subway up to 88th street and the Guggenheim.  Still just as awesome as it was the last time I went!  Then we took a little trip through Central Park down to the Metropolitan Museum (which we didn't go in but will definitely be revisiting).  Then more Central Park across to UWS to see the Manhattan temple.  It's so crazy that it's just in the middle of a big old city.  It was gorgeous though! Then we walked all back to 7th avenue and down towards Times Square where we ate the biggest sandwiches you've ever seen at Carnegie Deli.  Then to TS for Disney, Forever 21, and the M&M's and Hershey's stores.  After about 5 hours of walking and exploring we finally, you know, came home, where we had to climb up four flights of stairs to get to our little stuffy apartment.  Woo!  Long day. Super tired.  Here, have some pictures.

Well, here I am!

It's been a long day, but we're here!  Dani and I (and Dani's mom) moved into our cute little UES apartment today.  It's kind of tiny, but I really like it!  The window opens onto a fire escape (so romantic!) and looks out over a courtyard complete with chairs and tables, and even some trees! It's adorable.


We spent most of the evening exploring.  We even decided to go find the offices we'll be working in (which were a bit farther away than we realized) and we got to see Times Square, a whole bunch of Broadway theaters, and basically just got a little taste of New York.  Oh, and we had giant glasses of FroHoCho (frozen hot chocolate) at Serendipity's and it was DIVINE.


I start my internship with Harry Heissmann on Monday and I'm really nervous, but so excited!  Autumn has been filling me in on everything I need to know about him, since she interned with him last year, so I think I'm pretty well prepared.  And by that I mean completely and utterly terrified, but that's okay!


Anyway, no pics for today since I haven't taken any yet, but you know, they'll come.
